Catching up with friends in Oxford, having a few drinks…
I’m sorry to have kept you waiting, but I’m afraid my walk has become rather sillier recently, and so it takes me rather longer to get to work.
I remember watching ‘The Holy Grail’ and ‘Life Of Brian’ on VHS a lot as a kid. And long before actually seeing ‘Monty Python’s Flying Circus’, I read all of the scripts for the sketches from a (very thick) book. The Pythons are a core part of my sense of humour, as I’m sure is the case for so many people in the UK and abroad.
Thanks to Loki Llywarch for suggesting ‘ministry of silly walks’ for this week’s Wildcard Wednesday. My mind was made up when I saw this suggestion!
…don’t it make you feel alive.
Thanks to Alex Den Boer for suggesting this week’s lyric themed Wildcard Wednesday, which comes from LCD Soundsystem’s song ‘Get Innocuous’. I love their music but clearly not enough to know they split up five years ago and have only recently gotten back together.
Would have to say ‘Home’ is my favourite of theirs. Anyway, I’ve drawn the man James Murphy abstractly surrounded by his music.
As a side note, I know a number of you suggested David Bowie for this week’s wildcard but outside of the widely popular tracks, I can’t profess any connection with his music. It would’ve been very easy as the man was incredibly iconic but would’ve felt insincere.
